2010 Summer Institute

From Candace Greene, Director of the Smithsonian Institution Summer Institute in Museum Anthropology (SIMA):

Dear Colleagues – I am pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2010 Summer Institute in Museum Anthropology (SIMA), an NSF-funded research training initiative launched in 2009 by the Smithsonian Department of Anthropology.

SIMA is an intensive four-week training program that teaches graduate students how to use museum collections in research, incorporating Smithsonian collections as an integral part of their anthropological training. Support from the Cultural Anthropology Program at NSF covers full tuition and living expenses for 12 students each summer.

The program will run June 28-July 23. Applications are due March 1, so please help us get the word out about this program. Full information is available here.
