Southwest Museum Closing
It seems, from several reports, that the Southwest Museum is closing its doors to the public. "With this action," a SWM docent writes, "the Southwest Museum is now officially a storehouse and conservation site, nothing more."

Chinese Civilizations Curator Position
The Department of Anthropology of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology invite applications from anthropological archaeologists for a three-year visiting position in the study of ancient Chinese civilizations. The faculty appointment will be as a Senior Fellow in the Department of Anthropology with a parallel appointment as a Visiting Assistant Curator in the Asian Section of the University of Pennsylvania Museum. The successful candidate will teach two courses a year in the Anthropology Department and assist in the activities of the Asian Section. Preference will be given to candidates with active fieldwork in China.
