Readers of
Museum Anthropology and the Museum Anthropology Weblog may be interested in some new developments related to the open access journal
Museum Anthropology Review that I founded last February. Like
Museum Anthropology,
Museum Anthropology Review is a peer-reviewed journal of museum and material culture studies. Unlike
Museum Anthropology,
Museum Anthropology Review is not part of the AAA publications program but is instead an open access, digital-only journal made freely available to interested readers. Over the past year, the journal was published using
WordPress blogging software but last Thursday the IUB Libraries and I announced a new arrangement through which the journal will be published by the libraries using
Open Journal Systems software as part of an expansion of the larger
IUScholarWorks program.

One can read the press release
here, an editorial explaining the move in more detail
here (on the journal's WordPress site) and find the journal itself in its new home
here.
One can find a news story on the launch in
Library Journal Academic Newswire here. A comment by MAR Associate Editor Kimberly Christen can be found on on her weblog
Long Road here. The launch was mentioned in the English edition of
Antropologi.info here.
