The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) seeks a Supervisory Museum Specialist (Collections Management) to serve as the museum’s senior collections manager and to direct and manage all aspects of storage, access, care, preservation, use, disaster management planning, and registration activities for the NMAI’s collection, which is one of the largest and most extensive collections of Native American art and artifacts in the world. This position oversees the collections management and registration departments and works closely with the Assistant Director for Collections and conservation and archives departments to ensure compatibility and consistency of the application of policy for the stewardship of collections. This position is located at the NMAI Cultural Resources Center in Suitland, MD. The Smithsonian Institution is an equal opportunity employer.
Salary range: $90,823.00 to $139,523.00 per year
