Position Announcement: Lecturer, Museum Anthropology, Australia National University

Salary package: $91,541 - $104,254 per annum plus 17% Superannuation

We are looking for a scholar who will research and teach in a field relevant to Museum Anthropology and material culture studies. The successful applicant will most likely have a background in museum anthropology broadly defined with expertise in researching indigenous collections, however applicants who can make a case for the relevance of their expertise in related fields will be considered. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate expertise in interdisciplinary cross-cultural research in an area that might include: collections-based research, material culture research, curatorial-based research and community outreach, or the anthropology of art. We are particularly interested in someone who has expertise working with ethnographic collections and material culture, who has expertise in fieldwork, archival work, and in research methodologies related to collections and/or community-based work. Preference may be given to a person with research expertise in Australian and Oceanic collections, and we welcome applications from scholars working on Native American/First Nations collections who are interested in developing research interests in Indigenous Australian collections. An established publication record or the potential to develop a strong research profile is necessary.

Position overview
The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest single College of seven Colleges at ANU.
